Spiritual Matchmaking
Author: God (5:27 pm)
by: Kevin Stith
We live in a material world where all our decisions are colored by considerations which would result in some form of profit or gain. Even close relationships are not spared from this phenomenon. Criteria which may seem superficial make a person decide on who will be his or her mate. Good looks, money and social standing in the community are all considered as factors which are important when selecting the perfect match, either when you choose for yourself or when a parent or a friend helps in making that decision for you. In this context, any relationship which has the capacity to move from the material to another dimension is very rare indeed. The meeting of two minds or two souls brought about by shared values or shared beliefs, perhaps with the help of a specialized Spiritual Matchmaking service could be a spiritual experience–one kindred spirit getting in touch with another. In countries like India and China, spiritual teachers have from ancient times spread the message of inner peace and tranquility. The learnings from the ancient scriptures have relevance even in today’s world. Modern-day gurus like Deepak Chopra also advocate the need to get in touch with your inner self. And if you should meet a like-minded individual with similar aspirations, who also is looking for qualities beyond the obvious…it could well lead to blissfully sublime relationship! The matching of horoscopes, a popularly accepted custom in India, is the matching of the stars of one individual with that of another. It is about recognizing a divine pattern, even a divine intervention in human relationships. Matchmaking services who believe in Spiritual Matchmaking are offering this in a modern day package. They are helping to facilitate the journey that two individuals take when they try to find each other. But on another level, the spiritual level, this could well turn out to be both an uplifting and enlightening experience.

Hatha Yoga Induces Spiritual Growth
Author: God (5:26 pm)
by: Ashish Jain
What is Hatha Yoga? Most emphatically, its concern is mainly to tame the body for its onward spiritual growth.
If it is only the body aspect, is the God given/God-designed body imperfect for commencing and conducting spiritual disciplines? Those who disown Hatha Yoga and are not overawed by its practice and the results that it gives, believe so. According to them the practice of Hatha Yoga is not necessary for the real spiritual growth.
Animated yoga postures for stress relief, breathing exercises, asana and pranayama– all form part of Hatha Yoga. But they are all conducted with a purpose to achieve particular results. There are many subsidiary goals, which Hatha Yoga practitioners believe need to be achieved before achieving the final goal of Self-Realisation.
When we talk about yoga, we refer to it in the physical sense. To build the body to its perfection is the main aim of yoga. To attain emotional well being is also its concern, because without the emotional well being, spiritual attainments are not possible. The Hatha Yogi is a perfect scientist. He sees the body as the temple of God and wants to maintain it in a spic-and-span condition for the entry of God!
Therefore, asanas and other strict physical austerities, bordering the body are the priority of a Hatha Yogi. He considers them essential, without which it is not possible to achieve the final goal. He firmly believes that certain positions of the body can only be achieved by hard and intense practice.
There are several asanas for which the names of bird, animals or flowers are given. That shows their love for Nature, their feeling of oneness with the Nature. Some consider Hatha Yoga as the most unwanted part of yoga. Since any particular practice of Hatha Yoga is done by keeping in mind the attainment of a particular objective, the same is not considered perfect from the pure spiritual point of view. Doing anything with a motivated desire is not considered conducive to spiritual goal. The results of such actions are considered impermanent. The impermanent can not lead to the permanent.
Nevertheless, Hatha Yoga is what Hatha Yoga does! It has millions of ardent followers and some charlatans too, who are bent upon exploiting the gullibility of the people!

The Importance of Spirituality
Author: God (5:26 pm)
by: Dr. Jeffry R. Palmer Ph.D.
We live in a world which can best be described as a dystopia. The nation states of the world have devolved to an extent that social mobility in many regions of the planet is non-existent. The disparity between the “haves” and “have nots” grows globally at a steady and insidious pace.
Veils of ignorance are fostered and encouraged by governments seeking control of the masses by means of instilled complacency. Pseudo-democratic regimes offer a higher standard of living only to those willing to sacrifice a self informed world view.
Such a world is always just one small step away from complete anarchy. At any given moment circumstances may be set into motion which spiral humanity uncontrollably towards complete chaos. Recent events involving the after effects of hurricane Katrina in the United States best illustrate the nature of the human psyche at this point in time.
Life for many of us defies all meaning. We struggle numbly from day to insubstantial day. Stressful experiences are mounted upon more even stressful experiences. We look sometimes at the lives that we endure and wonder if there must be a better way. True happiness seems always to be something relegated to others more fortunate than us, constantly out of reach or beyond our power to realize.
Governments offer little more than further tension to what we often perceive as lives on the brink of complete disintegration. Religious leaders and institutions mostly serve to further the confusion and anxiety which we feel about our lives.
Hope, more and more often, seems to be a fruitless endeavor, a waste of what little emotional energy we have left at the end of the day. We retreat back into the cold, grey numbness of our minds and try as much as possible to forget any of the apparent myths we have heard of this thing called joy.
It is my belief that the human race is suffering from a spiritual death. In fact most of the people on this planet are spiritually dead. Without a sense of spiritual self, the human experience is reduced in meaning to nothing more than that of carbon based life form.
I share the view that the spiritual death of the population, if left unchecked, will result in catastrophe. Without a personal sense of spiritual worth there can be no spiritual responsibility. Lacking an individual system of spiritual responsibility leads mankind to a state of existence in which there is no accountability for negative actions, thoughts or energies.
This lack of spiritual self leaves a void in the existence of humanity, a void which soon becomes filled with the basal instincts of the human animal, instincts of violence and prejudice, territorialism and hatred.
This scenario leads inevitably to many of the events being played out in the headlines we read today. We see not just an increase in violent crimes, but an ever increasing level of brutality and disregard for human life. We see the trends toward war and domination. We begin to see a spiral of devastation looming on the horizon. No institution, religion or government has the power to reverse these trends towards cataclysm. If the collective mind seeks chaos then chaos will rule.
Only the acknowledgement of our individual spirituality has the power to alter the momentum of our existence. Acknowledgement of our spiritual worth leads to accepting responsibility for our roles as agents of change.
There is hope. The growing interest in all matters of spirituality reflects an instinctive need to bring equilibrium to a world overburdened with negativity.Whether this interest is in Buddhism, Meditation, Reiki, Christianity or any other form of spiritual awareness, it matters only that the individual finds a unique sense of spiritual self.
Only when the number of spiritually enlightened individuals has grown to a sufficient number will the current global trends towards hostility cease. Only when the individual takes steps to understand the importance of the spiritual self can spiritual death be reversed.
There is hope for you to find your spiritual identity. All you need to do is accept the need for it and it will be found. You will be drawn instinctively, as many others have been, to seek information and guidance. It is most important that you select only a spiritual path that fits you personally; you will know when you have found it. Do not be swayed by the beliefs of others. Develop your own beliefs. Above all, take personal responsibility for your spirituality and create positive change.

The Deeper Meaning of the Word Reiki
Author: God (5:26 pm)
by: Bronwen Stiene
One literal translation of Reiki is spiritual energy or universal energy. We suggest that Reiki may have another meaning - one that does not stem from a literal translation but rather from one’s direct experience. When we practice the various elements that comprise the system of Reiki we utilize spiritual energy (Reiki). Practitioners are surprised when they discover in their practice that different stages exist within this spiritual energy. A path is unearthed and those who conscientiously practice the elements of the system of Reiki gradually see where it is heading. To tap into this spiritual energy, in it’s completeness, is to have arrived at the advanced stages of our personal spiritual practice. To paraphrase the experience of receiving the full effect of Reiki actually means to achieve satori*. At this stage all our ordinary perceptions are transformed and we realise our true potential as human beings. Attaining this enlightened state of mind and becoming pure light is the ultimate goal of a Reiki practice. This is reflected by the mantra and kanji (symbol) that are practiced at the third and final level of the system. The mantra literally translated from the Japanese means ‘great bright light’. So the goal is to become this great bright light by achieving a state of non-duality or satori. As practitioners we say we channel Reiki but in effect we only tap into a small amount of this spiritual energy until our energy has become strong enough to channel pure spiritual energy. In other articles about the system we have said that we are Reiki or spiritual energy. Yes, fundamentally we are Reiki but as long as our true realization of this state is limited then so too is our ability. To achieve satori may take years and years of practice and there is no shortcut by means of using secret symbols or mantras. What is required though is perseverance and the right understanding of how to work with the basic elements of the system of Reiki. Without this right understanding we just fumble about in the dark never reaching the great bright light. So it is necessary to go back to the roots of the system and practice with the tools as Usui sensei intended us to. In conclusion, we may not channel the completeness of Reiki, but we do practice a system called Reiki. And, when we finally become the great bright light we will still not say that we channel the completeness of Reiki as, once achieved, such statements no longer hold importance. *Satori means Enlightenment

Divine Nature
Author: God (7:57 am)
Wholeness, abundance, and serenity are being expressed throughout all creation.
Jesus attracted large numbers of people who wanted to be healed and prospered. Our Way Shower not only knew the truth of His divinity, He also demonstrated it through daily living. He knew and taught the truth of the divinity of all humanity.
Awakened to my own divine nature, I naturally demonstrate love, forgiveness, and compassion. I perceive the power of God active within all creation, and I acknowledge the divine creative spark within everyone.
Aware of a need for healing, prosperity, or peace, I know the truth for myself and others. In thought and word, I affirm the underlying power of wholeness, abundance, and serenity within, that is waiting to be expressed.
My speech and my proclamation were not with plausible words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

Healing
Author: God (8:16 am)
I am energized by the life force of God, expressing in me now. Whether I myself or another is experiencing a physical or emotional challenge, I affirm wholeness and hold thoughts of healing in mind. I continue to generate thoughts of health throughout the day, affirming that the life force of God is strengthening every organ and tissue of our bodies. There is an ongoing vitality that is renewing our bodies and refreshing our souls. Divine energy is constantly flowing through us, healing and renewing the very fabric of our beings.
I visualize the wholeness that has already come into expression and the greater well-being that is yet to come into full expression. I give thanks for the energizing, revitalizing power of spirit, mind, and body that is blessing each one of us with life and renewal.
He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
